How can you lose your British Citizenship?

Professor Matthew Gibney (Professor of Politics and Forced Migration)

Matthew Gibney is Professor of Politics and Forced Migration at the University of Oxford. He specialises in the political and ethical issues raised by refugees, citizenship, and migration control. For this talk he will focus on the recent case of Shemima Begum, a UK national who was stripped of her citizenship after joining ISIS in 2015, and the ethical questions which have arisen from this situation.
