Radiotherapy uses high energy beams of particles to target a cancer. It is a vital part of cancer care - around 50% of cancer patients receive it and 40% of cancer cures are due to it. Joe Whitbourn – a medical physicist at The James Cook University Hospital - will talk about the science behind it as well as the pioneering innovations which are driving it on.
