What’s wrong with science in our media?

Barry Turner (Senior Lecturer in Environmental & Science Journalism)
The UK press frequently reports from the world of scientific research. From quality documentaries to sensational headlines the public get a view of science and scientists, and for many people this is the main source of what they get to see and hear.
This talk will look at the dark side of science reporting and ask why so much of the reporting of science in our media is not just plain wrong, but in many cases dangerous.

Prof Alina Rodriguez (Professor of Psychology)
This talk gives insight into what happens during the 9 months of development that happens out of sight - inside the womb. Our destiny is not fully written in our genes and what happens before we are born can have a lasting impact on our health and well-being.
