Musical Molecules at Work and Play
Mr Andrew Hall
(Research Fellow in Chemistry at the University of Southampton)
Have you ever heard the haunting sound of a lone Ethanol molecule on a cold winters night, or the door bell chime of Succinic acid? The molecules all around us each have their own characteristic song that is unique in the chemical world. Join us to discover why this molecular music is key to medical diagnosis using MRI in hospitals, and how we can use the same properties to study chemical reactions and molecular transformations.
