When is Pint of Science?

Our main festival runs in May every year when we have hundreds of events over just a few days. We will have a handful of events throughout the rest of the year.

How can I speak at one of your events?

Speakers are chosen by our local volunteers. We have a sign-up form when we are looking for speakers, but as we get so many requests, there is no guarantee that you will be contacted.

How can I organise an event?

Our main events take place over three days in May. If you want to organise anything at another time, then please get in touch and we will consider it. A call for volunteers will be made in August, with a link to sign up

With regards to new cities, please email us directly - the intake is usually September/October each year. In general it can make organisation easier if you are part of a university and can get public engagement involved. In any case, if we have enough requests from people in a city we will do our best to make it happen there.

Where's your mailing list?

Sign up here and we will send you information about any events we may have coming up.

What is an event like?

Each event is unique, but in general there tend to be two talks per evening that are each around 20-30 minutes long with time for questions and answers afterwards. No question is too silly - if you really just want to know how much that microscope costs, just ask! There is also a break in between the talks involving activities and where you are in with a chance to win goodies from Pint of Science and our partners.

Can I bring my child(ren)?

This really depends on the venue. You will need to check with them as age limits and rules vary with each one. In general we suggest people be at least 13 years old to attend Pint of Science. For some of our events, such as the astronaut ones which usually take place in theatres, all ages are welcome including those under 13.

Tickets for events

Unfortunately no more tickets will become available once an event sells out. If an event is not sold out, there may tickets available on the door, but this is at the discretion of the local organisers at each venue.

We don't have any waiting lists and we are unable to offer refunds to attendees who can no longer come or do not attend.  If you can't make it, you are welcome to give your ticket to a friend, they just need to say your name at the door.
