Scratching the surface of Retromer dysfunction in neuronal systems

In this talk I will present how our lab is aiming to understand the global consequences of Retromer dysfunction in multiple neurodegenerative diseases using biochemical and cell biology methods, including proteomic analysis of cell surface proteins in primary cultures of neurons and other supporting brain cells.

I will describe the purification, in vitro reconstitution, and structural analysis of proteins which associate with the endosomal membrane in order to coordinate the recycling or degradation of endocytosed material.
