A Space Travel Dream Come True

Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburger (Astronaut & Geologist)
Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburger is a NASA astronaut, geologist and former high-school science teacher turned space explorer. She was a Mission Specialist for the International Space Station and the Space Shuttle on STS-131, racking up an impressive 15 days, 2 hours, and 47 minutes in space. Her journey to the stars began in a high-school classroom, where a single question launched her into orbit and into the NASA program. As one of just four teacher-turned-astronauts to venture into the cosmos, Dottie is making history while inspiring future explorers. Dottie is also the Commander of NASA Extreme Environment Mission Operations (NEEMO) 16, leading the charge in extreme space simulations.
