The future of our planet is going to depend on what we can do to help combat climate change but are we tired of hearing about sustainability? Todays talks will focus on how we will live with the uncertain future and how we can make the most out of our waste to help combat climate change.

Living (Thriving!) in an Uncertain World

Rich and Hayley from the University of Bristol Cabot Institute explore how we depend on and shape our planet. They will be discussing the challenge of living with environmental uncertainty, and especially arising from climate change. The ambition to keep global warming 'well below 2C' will be difficult, and still likely to lead to a significant change in climate. They will discuss what it really means for people, and how it forces us to consider concepts of resilience and how we talk about it.

The Future for Waste

Caroline and Josh from GENeco will be discussing the problems we are currently facing globally with increasing air pollution and depleting resources, and why effective and sustainable waste management is so important to solving this problem. They will specifically focus on how GENeco is dedicated to creating new ways of providing solutions to these problems by turning waste into resources, in the form of projects such as their Anaerobic Digestion facility, innovative composting process and the world-famous Bio Bus.
