Nigel will address these fundamental questions in this evening's talk on Artificial Intelligence. Not to miss! Plus, Pint of Science pint glasses and tshirts to be won! (Please note: event located on the first floor, only accessible via stairs.)

Artificial Intelligence: Fact & Fiction

Professor Sir Nigel Shadbolt (Professorial Research Fellow in Computer Science)
The talk will discuss the current "state of the art" in artificial intelligence research. We will explore how far various predictions of the imminent emergence of super-intelligent machines are warranted. We will look at the practical impact of artificial intelligence now and in the near future and look at the ethical questions such research raises.
