Does technology threaten our survival?

Dr Anna Machin (Evolutionary anthropologist)
Human innovation is amazing. But for the first time technological evolution is drastically outstripping biological evolution - what are supposed to be our tools are now our masters. Anna will argue that it is the mismatch between these two essential aspects of our evolution which has led us to experience a mental health crisis and a drastic reduction in life satisfaction. She will argue that we need to learn to take back control, with a warning for the future that unless we come to understand who we are as a species and learn from our experiences with social media, AI threatens our humanity.
