FixOurFood in Schools

Opening the show is Jack from the FixOurFood team, a project aiming to revolutionise food systems in schools. Learn about the research which, together with school staff and children, is helping to bring tasty, good quality, and sustainable food to the future generations of Yorkshire. Get involved in the show as Jack demonstrates aspects of the research methodologies utilised on school observation days, by substituting school meals for pints!

The Future of Food in a Climate Crisis

There is a desperate need to feed the world with sustainable, low-carbon protein sources, and Alex Setchfield believes he has found a promising solution with the humble Black Soldier Fly. From lab-based discoveries to winning an international business plan competition, Alex reveals the hard science that is behind the transformation of inedible crop residues into a novel protein source using microbial and insect biotech.
