Tonight we have a fast paced, exciting talk from Allan about the future of sustainable transport.

*Please note that Allan has replaced Mark as the speaker for this event*

Energy and Mobility – Volt Fiction?

Prof Allan Hutchinson (Professor of Mechanical Engineering)
A quarter of all our energy is used in transport, but the emissions from burning fossil fuel in transport are slowly killing us. The general approach to clean up the air in our cities is to go electric. Why? Because there are no tailpipe emissions - no pollution at source - and it’s quieter. It’s all part of the global agenda for electrification of transport. But where does the energy come from? What does the future of mobility look like? Is it the end of the road for the car? Allan will talk through some of the challenges and exciting opportunities for the future.
