We have billions of very different and distinct groups of microbial friends in our colon and we excrete the weight of 15 cows worth of faecal bacteria extraction in our lifetimes! This is the reason why faeces are the best and the least invasive way to study them. Here we go, this should answer one of the most common questions I’m often asked: ‘Can I have some of your poo please!? Answer: ‘Really?! Why do you need to study my poo!?’ Well, please not be shy…Today, I will tell you more about the link between you, diet and your belly!’

Foods and drinks derived from plants are extremely rich in bioactive compounds called polyphenols, which play a big role in healthy ageing and chronic disease prevention. Today I will talk to you about how they help us maintain a healthy body, and delay aging-related impairments.
