Nature and wellbeing at Hazel Hill Wood

Amanda Horton (Scientist)
Hazel Hill Wood is a peaceful 70-acre woodland retreat centre just 7 miles east of Salisbury. Learn why people volunteer with us and support our charity, including contributing to valuable nature conservation tasks and general site maintenance. While they’re at it, volunteers develop new skills, meet new people and get active in a relaxing and nourishing environment. As well as volunteer days, we run wildlife events. Find out more about the conservation activities at Hazel Hill Wood with Charley.

Pathways to a collaborative society that embraces diversity. The case of forests, research and a bit of bathing.

Mohammed Hussein (Scientist student)
Collaborative working is about having a better understanding of others, adopting joint thinking and the sharing of ideas. It is also a key skill in project management. Using a research-based case-study on forest bathing (a therapeutic walk in the forest) and its association with wellbeing, this talk will consider the benefits and challenges of collaborative working practices. So come along into the woods as we think about trees, the weather and (sometimes scary) wildlife, and consider how knowledge is created and its subsequent use in the local and international stages of the world.
