Tag, you're it! PROTACS: a new way to treat disease
Charlotte Hunter
(PhD Student in Biosciences)
Our bodies are full of hardworking proteins - some essential, others troublesome. Certain proteins can't be controlled by existing medicines. But what if we could remove them entirely? That's where PROTACs come in. These molecules don't just block harmful proteins - they tag them for destruction, harnessing the cell's own clean-up system. In this talk, we'll explore how PROTACs could open up new possibilities for treating diseases like cancer by clearing out the proteins that traditional drugs can't touch.
