Many people believe that if you learn a language later in life, you’ll never experience it the same way as a native speaker. But is that really true? Join us as we explore how the brain and body react to emotional words in a second language - and what this reveals about the bilingual experience.



Sofia Krasteva holds an MSc in Education and Neuroscience, where she researched how bilingual brains process emotional language. With a background spanning education, STEM outreach, and programme development, she is passionate about the neuroscience of learning and making research accessible beyond academia. She currently works in higher‑education learning and programme development while expanding her engagement in science communication.
