Listen to your body when it whispers and you won't have to hear it scream. This night's talks will explore how food and nutrients can help lower blood pressure while integrated pain assessment and spinal services can help cope with pain. Turn up tonight to learn a few tips to tune in with your body!

A high pressure fishy tale. How can eating fish relax your (smooth) muscles and lower your blood pressure?

Dr Alister McNeish (Associate Professor of Pharmacy)
Why are “fish oils” (AKA omega-3 fatty acids) reported to be so good for your cardiovascular health? Alister will focus on effects on blood pressure and his latest research showing that they have drug-like effects on your arteries. He argues that fish oils affect the function of the “smooth” muscle cells of your blood vessels and thus help to make blood flow more freely. Alister will also discuss how all this might apply to your, and society's, health, how best best to consume these fish oils, and where the future of these “nutraceuticals” may lie.
