Decoding Hormonal Health: Bridging Blood Analysis and Algorithms to Map the Menstrual Cycle

Sarah Bolt (CEO & Founder, Forth)
Despite significant progress in medical science, many aspects of women's health remain poorly understood leaving women struggling for answers. Female hormones follow a unique, intricate pattern that varies for each woman. However, single-day blood tests offer limited insight into these hormonal fluctuations. MyFORM® revolutionizes this approach by integrating blood analysis with mathematical modelling, to provide a comprehensive view of how hormones change across an individual’s menstrual cycle.

Exploring Sleep's Mysteries: Leveraging Machine Learning for Detection of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea

Abdelrahman Otify (PhD Student)
Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) is the collapse of the airway. It affects 1 billion people according to a paper published in 2019. OSA gets diagnosed using polysomnography (PSG) which monitors physiological signals. PSG can be delayed especially after the pandemic. Alternatives need to be sought to speed up the diagnosis and subsequently receive OSA management. Abdelrahman Otify is collaborating with a researcher in India, the country ranking 4th in terms of the number of affected individuals. Machine learning is used to mitigate the downsides of PSG and to reduce the strain on healthcare systems.
