This event promises to be one of intrigue, diversity, and discomfort. Join our four exciting speakers on a global journey, beginning with an exploration of the history of nursing within Yorkshire, before discovering the lingering influence of colonialism on gender-diverse people in Namibia. We will then discover the emotional impact of body changes in pregnancy and discuss how modern analytical techniques are helping to trace dietary shifts along the African coast.

The research focused on the experiences gender-diverse people had with discrimination through various channels, and how this impacted their wellbeing and ability to find community.

During pregnancy the body changes a lot from the outside, but also changes a lot on the inside. How these internal feelings are sensed and interpreted changes too. We will explore some of those changes, and how they interact with dimensions of mental health, and the bodily experience as a whole, including how confident people feel about their body shape and size.
