Parenting challenges for military families: protecting parents' and young children's health and wellbeing

Dr Gabriela Misca (Senior Lecturer in Psychology)
Professor Mary Nolan (Professor of Perinatal Education)
Military life is often characterised by long, unpredictable duty hours, relatively low pay, family separations and regularly moving from place to place. As such, military families face challenges beyond the experiences of most UK families. The presenters bring multi-disciplinary views to gain understanding of these challenges, the impact on parenting, and strategies to support military parents with young children.
