One of the places you will likely encounter bubbles is in a drink. This talk will discuss why bubbles matter in your beer and how they are formed. It will also describe cutting edge research into strengthening metals using bubbles.

Bubbles play an essential role in your beer, ever wondered why?

Dr Catherine Tonry (Senior Lecturer in Computational Science and Engineering)
Dr Catherine Tonry is an Associate Professor in Computational Science and Engineering at the University of Greenwich and an expert in numerical modelling of bubbles. She is also the Technical Director of CAMRA, Europe’s largest beer consumer organisation. She will discuss how bubbles form in your beer, and how they effect the taste. It will then look at how bubbles can be used to make metals stronger. As the talk takes place in a Brewery there will be a chance to taste the difference that bubbles make!
