"I don't give a sh*t about the gigs!" Exploring what punk means to older punk women

Dr Laura Way (Research Fellow in Family Research)
Is there a pressure amongst older punk women to grow old gracefully, or do they instead relish in growing old DISgracefully? This talk will draw upon Laura's research with older punk women, exploring how they negotiate 'being' and 'doing' punk as they age, and consider what punk means to them.

A journey across the world of bagpipes

Dr Cassandre Balosso-Bardin (Senior Lecturer in Music)
Did you know that over 130 bagpipes existed across the world? What are they made out of? How are they really played? Who plays them? This diverse instrument is traditionally found from Northern India to Ireland and comes in all shapes and sizes. This talk will take you on a journey across the world of bagpipes, with live performance, demonstrating the astonishing variety of the instrument.
