Join us to find out about the exciting potential of magic mushrooms as a treatment for mental health disorders, specifically anorexia nervosa. More broadly, we will look at how COVID-19 has contributed to the rise of mental health problems and at the possible scalable solutions. The talks will be given by the researchers from Imperial’s leading Centre for Psychedelic Research group and the Department of Psychiatry focusing on mental health.

Have you wondered how psychedelics may be transforming psychiatry? By outlining the mechanisms of action, we will look at why these drugs are so effective in treating mental health disorders. More specifically, we will focus on the current pilot study at Imperial College London where Psilocybin is being used to treat Anorexia Nervosa. 

The impact of COVID-19 on mental health

COVID-19 has left a mark on population wide mental health particularly young individuals struggling with eating disorders. This talk will focus on cutting edge approaches to address this issue by determining the risk factors at stake. Following that, we will look at scalable solutions from parent training to policy change.
