The Urban Observatory
Dr Lindsay Bramwell
(Institute of Health and Society, Newcastle University)
Newcastle University's Urban Observatory gathers huge amounts of data on everything from flooding to air pollution, traffic flows and even the behaviour of bees so that informed decisions can be made for the city’s development. It is the densest sensor deployment in the UK and probably the largest set of open real time environmental monitoring data in the world. Lindsay will wax lyrical on air monitoring and show how anyone can access and use the observatories data
