David Wright talks to us about identifying criminal words - or identifying criminals from words...? Confused? No worries, we've got someone to spell it out for you - artist Kelsey Bryan will be talking about her piece that's based on this very bit of research! And as if that isn't mindboggling enough, we've got improv troupe Vox Pops joining us for some wordplay and spontaneity.

David Wright (Lecturer of Linguistics)
Can we use the power of linguistics to identify the authors of anonymous or disputed documents that are evidence in a criminal or civil case? David Wright has the answer! We'll have a forensic linguist on site, and he has some exciting words for us!

Claire Guest (poet/chemical engineer)
Claire Guest is a poet/chemical engineer freshly graduated (by the time this is out she hopes!) from the University of Bath. She has performed at a variety of events, including the Bath and Cheltenham Literature Festivals, and Edinburgh Fringe. Claire was the Birmingham Young Poet Laureate 2012/2013, and this year, she'll be presenting the results of her collaboration with physicist Mark Fromhold for us!

Vox Pops (Improv troupe)
Art and science are both about the same thing. Finding the truth. But what happens when you find it? From the true stories of our speakers, the Vox Pops will weave a multitude of hilarious, improvised scenes and sketches. The Vox Pops are part of MissImp, a group who has brought improvised comedy to Nottingham for 20 years, including residencies at the Glee Club and Nottingham Playhouse. With the Vox Pops the truth has never been funnier!
