Reading Between the Lines: how fiction enhances social skills

Dr Min Yong (Associate Professor in Psychology, University of Bradford)
In this talk, Min Yong will explain why reading fiction is important for improving your Theory-of-Mind, drawing on evidence and theories from psychology, literature, and philosophy. She will also share the latest findings from her lab. Given the irreversible shift towards an older population, there is potential for using fiction to support older adults on how to best maintain their cognitive function, independence and overall quality of life.
