Learning from trees: Peacebuilding, justice, and art
Prof Ananda Breed
(Professor in Theatre)
In this talk we will explore international peacebuilding through Ananda's experience growing up in the mountains of Northern California. She will talk about the unique contribution of nature to mental health and well-being, and how and why arts-based approaches can be used to create a two-way form of dialogue between young people and decision-makers.
I have an idea!
Rachael Mason
(Senior Lecturer in Health and Social Care)
Where do we start with a research project? Someone has an idea but how do we design the project to help it have real world impact? Co-production with people in relevant communities can help to achieve this. This talk will involve audience participation to develop an idea for a project, taking you through steps to identify the purpose of the project, its design, how to conduct it, how to evaluate it, and what to do when we have finished the project. Along the way, we will explore the pitfalls we sometimes fall into during the research process which hinders co-production and consider the challenges that co-production can bring.
