Come join us for an exciting night of talks where we will discuss the path taken by Einstein in his efforts to discover the general theory of relativity, as well as give an introduction to perturbation theory in cosmology. During the event, there will be Mendeley and Pint of Science goodies to be won!

Introducing General Relativity

Professor David Berman (Professor in Theoretical Physics)
This talk will describe the path taken by Einstein in discovering the general theory of relativity and the resulting description of gravity as the curvature of space-time.

Cosmic Inflation

Dr Karim Malik (Reader in Theoretical Cosmology)
In cosmology, inflation is a good thing. I will explain what cosmologists mean by inflation and what role it plays in the current cosmological standard model. In particular I will highlight how the latest observational data and experiments shaped our understanding of the early universe and cosmic inflation.
