Psychedelics and Mental Health: Exploring Past, Present and Future Avenues
Joanna Vamvakopoulou
(PhD Student)
In this talk, Joanna will guide us through some of the research that has been conducted in the past years in the field of psychedelics for mental health treatment. We will also dive into Joanna’s PhD, which focuses on a low dose of psilocybin to augment a mental imagery intervention for young people who self-harm, while also exploring its therapeutic implications in mental health treatment.

How Do We Capture Growing Up? The Science of Measuring Youth Development
Dr. Kathryn Bates
(Research Fellow at King’s College London)
What shapes youth development, and how do we measure it? In this talk, I’ll take you behind the scenes of developmental science, exploring the tools scientists use to track change over time. From large-scale longitudinal studies and statistical modelling to interviewing young people about their experiences to co-producing podcasts: we use a range of methods to understand how young people grow and change. Join me as we uncover why the way we measure development matters – and why involving young people in science is so important.
