Radiotherapy for Prostate Cancer

Radiation therapy is a highly effective and safe treatment for early prostate cancer, curing the majority of those treated. However, challenges still remain: there are some men who are not cured, and some who can develop side-effects from treatment. There have been great strides forward in radiotherapy science and technology since its’ first use in 1957. I will showcase how we are harnessing the latest innovations in radiotherapy at the Institute of Cancer Research & Royal Marsden Hospital within our latest clinical trials to try and cure more men with fewer side-effects.
