A link between diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease
Dr Shreyasi Chatterjee
(Research fellow in neurodegeneration )
During her talk Shreyasi will tell us about the link between Alzheimer’s disease and type 2 diabetes, a lifestyle-related condition characterised by high sugar level in the blood. What is the interlink between those two common diseases? Does insulin resistance increase the risk of developing dementia? Is there anything we can do? If we control blood sugar level, will it reduce our risk of dementia?
