Dinosaurs ruled the Earth for over 150 million years, evolving into spectacular giants like Brontosaurus and T. rex that still capture our imaginations. Join PhD student Adam Manning for a fascinating talk on how dinosaur brains evolved, followed by a panel discussion led by University of Edinburgh palaeontologist Steve Brusatte (consultant for Jurassic World and author of The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs) with his postgraduate students, sharing the latest research on dinosaur evolution and behaviour.

Ceratopsians, the big horned dinosaurs, are famous for their massive frills and horns, and there has been a lot of speculation on their behaviour. One aspect of their anatomy that has been far less studied is their brain anatomy. Here, Adam explains his research on how we can recover the brains of these dinosaurs, and what they can tell us about their general cognition.

In this talk, University of Edinburgh palaeontologist Steve Brusatte, consultant for the Jurassic World film franchise and author of the book The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs, will lead a panel discussion about the latest research on dinosaur evolution and behaviour, with his postgraduate students who study reptiles: Jack Davidson, Aurora Liu, Adam Manning, Milly Mead, Carly Pligersdorffer, and Issy Walker.
