Under Fire: Immune Health in a Warming World

Climate change is the greatest burden of the 21st century and carries severe consequences for global health. In the UK, the last three years have been the warmest on record, while globally, heat is responsible for a considerable proportion of mortality associated with climate change. A key factor in heat-stress related health issues is via disruption in the functioning of our immune system. Pregnant women are especially vulnerable to this, and heat increases the risk of poor birth outcomes. Come along to hear how increasing temperatures shape our immune system and overall health!
