The question is not 'What have the Romans ever done for us'? but 'What has the fruit fly ever done for us'?  As we push the boundaries of research into the complexities of disease we have a miniscule hero to thank, the humble fruit fly.  Spend an evening at our two part talk with some world leading experts on this wee beasty and discover how much we have to thank our tiny winged heroes for.

Learn how the incredible fruit fly Drosophila has changed the face of modern biology and continues to drive our understanding of human health and disease. Fruit fly research has earned a phenomenal 6 Nobel Prizes over the course of its 100-year history and continues to be a crucial part of our research arsenal for investigating health and disease. The speakers will discuss how they use the fruit fly in their own research investigating the biology of stem cells, aging and and the gut microbiota. Get up close and personal with some flies in a range of activities, You may even win a prize!
