From Italy to Leeds: my (not always easy) life in Academia

Dr. Lia Pinto (Postdoctoral Researcher, LICAMM, University of Leeds )
After studying at the University of Trento in Italy, I moved to Luxembourg for my doctoral studies, where I discovered the frustrating side of academic research. Despite promising myself to leave Academia after my PhD, here I am today, loving my job as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Leeds.

Postdoc: Expectations vs reality

Dr. Marjolaine Debant (Postdoctoral Mautner Fellow, LICAMM, University of Leeds)
I completed my PhD in Immunology in 2017 and soon after left France to start a postdoc in Leeds.

Being a postdoc is definitely both amazing and frustrating, mostly because of the huge gap between my expectations and the reality.
