Bibi Samshad Duman will be leading an award-winning interactive workshop, recognised with two awards at the 2024 Doctoral Summer Showcase. This hands-on session invites participants to engage in conversations about textile design while weaving on a custom-made small weaving frame used in the Textile Design programme. Attendees will have the opportunity to create their own woven bookmark to take home, exploring the tactile and creative aspects of textile craftsmanship. The workshop fosters dialogue on sustainable design, material innovation, and collaborative creativity, aligning with Bibi’s research on transforming industrial textile waste into new materials through interdisciplinary engagement.
