I’m a PhD student investigating the use of wearable technologies as a new outcome measure for patients with spinal deformity. Outside my PhD I enjoy walking my dog, running, cycling and baking. I discovered a new love of jigsaw puzzles in lockdown!
I'm currently doing my PhD in Neuroscience and have a passion of disorders affecting muscles and nerve; and I also do clinical work. At the moment, outside of work, you will find me reading, on my playstation or dreaming of when we will be able to see live music again!
I’m a PhD student in the field of prebiotic chemistry, trying to find the origins of life. I’m really excited to be part of PoS and help spread science communication in a chilled environment, joined by good beer and good people
I’m doing my PhD at the Division of Infection & Immunity at UCL researching how our immune system can fight cancer cells and viruses. I think it’s about time that we move science out of the lab into the pub. And what’s better than having a geeky science chat over a (virtual) pint?
Hi there! I am a biologist by training and now I have started a PhD in Nanomedicine at UCL, where I am using a new synthetic drug delivery tool for improving cancer immunotherapy treatments. If you can’t find me in the lab, I am probably playing sports, having a cuppa with friends or baking a cake.
I am a first year PhD student studying neuro-genetics at the Institute of Ophthalmology. Outside of the lab I enjoy running, cycling and travelling. I am looking forward to joining the Pint of Science team and sharing some pints and science with everyone.
I am studying MSc Drug design, and am particularly interested in psychatric drugs and neuroscience, as well as making drugs from natural products. I am also very interested in science communication, in general, and enjoy writing news/feature-type articles, on various aspects of science/everyday life...
I’m a first year PhD student at UCL. My research is focused on using scanning tunnelling microscopy to place dopants in silicon with atomic precision, paving the way for the next generation of computing, Outside of uni, I’m learning Japanese and I enjoy playing games.
I am a third year PhD student studying the molecular progression of a paediatric eye cancer at UCL's Institute of Ophthalmology. My interests include conservation of the environment and wildlife, designing scientific illustrations, rowing and playing piano.
I am doing MEng Biochemical engineering (first year). I love to volunteer, dancing is my passion, I am a trained tennis player. I also love to cook and read storybooks. I also really enjoy listening to music.
I’m interested in studying the fundamental properties of molecules by observing how they interact with radiation. For my Master’s research at UCL, I use lasers to “shed new light” on the photochemistry of certain atmospheric pollutants. In my spare time, I enjoy playing volleyball and table tennis o...
I'm a graduate student in the Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology. My research involves personal (or autobiographical) memory, psychopharmacology and emotional disorder. Outside of work, I love to go indoor rock climbing and inline roller skating.
I am a first year Earth Sciences student here at UCL. I have always been fascinated by the rigorous scientific systems behind our beautiful planet. Outside university, I am a huge football fan and occasionally play rugby.
I am studying Medical Imaging and specifically, my research is looking at disease progression modelling of Parkinson's using machine learning. In my free time I enjoy lifting weights, playing video games, and drawing.
I’m a PhD student, investigating the mysterious neuroscience of sleep, using zebrafish as an animal model. Outside the lab, I’ve worked on documentaries (including an upcoming one on ITV) and one half of the radio show Housemates.
I’m a Neuroscience PhD student, interested in midbrain circuitry and pain processing. Outside the lab, I am often writing and always reading. If I’m not buried in a book, I’ll either be drawing or doing yet another state-sanctioned lap of the local park.
I am a first-year undergraduate in BEng biochemical engineering and am particularly interested in regenerative medicines. Outside of university, I enjoy reading novels, painting, and gardening. I also have just started playing tennis recently.
I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UCL's Department of Chemistry. My research work is focused on the preparation of hollow polymeric nanoparticles with controlled surface topology for targeted drug delivery applications. Outside the lab, I enjoy playing sports, video gaming and collecting stamps...
I am currently an MSc Geoscience student, and I am particularly interested in studying surface deformation using remote sensing. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, jogging, skiing and traveling.
I am currently a second year PhD student in Neuroscience under Division of Medicine. I study how myelin is involved in learning and memory. I enjoy running, baking and classical music in my spare time.
I am on a rotation year for my PhD at the MRC Prion Unit at UCL looking at genetic risk factors for sCJD, a human prion disease. Public Engagement has a special place in my heart - I have been a performer, mentor, and have also done a PoS-style assessment in university - and so I can't wait to help ...
I’m a final year PhD student looking at the relationship between alcohol use and suicidal behaviour using population-level datasets. A fan of both pints and science, I also enjoy playing football and listening to sad indie music.
