Hearing is the main sensation for social experience. It allows us to communicate effectively, as well as listen to music and television. In this talk we explore how our hearing works and the mechanisms that are responsible for deafness induced by exposure to loud sounds.
Mental health and human rights: Can a person be considered dangerous on the basis of their illnesses?

Can a person be considered dangerous on the basis of their illnesses and how does this impact our human rights? By looking at real case studies from the past including the use of Asylum during Fascism in Italy and examples from the present mental health system in the UK, we will reflect how health laws can impact on the individual right to health and what are the potential risks for our freedom.
