The Pterosaurs And The Bees

Pterosaurs are flying reptiles from the time of the dinosaurs. They were as diverse as birds, and the first and largest known flying vertebrates. My research on pterosaurs studies their evolutionary relationships, patterns and processes. Many biological definitions rely on an animal’s sexual maturity and ability to breed, so what do we know biologically about these extinct animals? What happens to individuals that can’t be defined sexually? How did pterosaurs even do it? My research has the potential to answer these questions and maybe get us a few more.

Neanderthals

Who were the Neanderthals? How did they come to be and what can we say about how they lived? And perhaps most puzzlingly why did they go extinct? In this talk Mark will take you on a whirlwind tour of the current thinking on these questions and more.
