Nature is amazing!

Quantum physics is what we use to describe the very strange behaviour of particles when they behave like waves and can be in many places at the same time. As we research deeper into the quantum world, we also see how nature has been using many of these “new” tricks for millennia.
One of the holy grails in research is to harness quantum physics and with it create new technologies. Perhaps the answer doesn’t lie in a lab, but within a living organism. In my talk we’ll explore biology, quantum technology, and how these two worlds collide.

Walking in nature or just viewing it through the window can benefit our cognitive functioning, our mood, and our wellbeing. This session discusses some of the latest work at Surrey on human-nature relationships. We will demonstrate nature engagement has multiple benefits for health and wellbeing. We will explore the working ingredients of healing nature such as bird sound as well as potential risks (animals, bugs). We will then go on to examine how human influence can damage healing nature as well as environmental quality and how some human influences, designed to benefit the environment, but
