Dinosaurs in the Desert

The Sahara Desert of south eastern Morocco is a source of abundant dinosaur teeth that provide an income for local fossil collectors in what is a difficult place to earn a living. This talk examines the region, its people and the amazing fossils that dominated Cretaceous North Africa 120 million years ago.

Palaeontology - more than just dinosaurs!

While dinosaurs are the ‘rock stars’ of palaeontology, this scientific field covers all life that has existed on our planet. It is also some of the more unassuming and overlooked fossil organisms that yield the most important data - this talk will widen your view of the scientific value of fossils…it’s not all about the dinosaurs.

Rolling with the Stones: a journey of millions of years

Oceans come and go, moving the continents around the globe. This dynamic environment is driven by plate tectonics, leading to mountains being built and destroyed. This talk will focus on the processes and timescales of these events, taking us to Brazil, three billion years ago.
