Cosmic Inflation; The Theory Where There is no Big 'Bang'!

It is truly amazing that we are capable, to any extent, of understanding the physics at the beginning of everything (or the very early universe). Prof David Wands will discuss the prevailing theory of how everything began known as Cosmic Inflation and explain some of its immense successes and intriguing mysteries.

The Particles That Make Up Everything

The early universe has a very rich physical description. Before atoms and nuclei there were them particles that are their constituents that are also made in the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in Geneva. Dr Thomas Tram will give us a window into how these particles are relevant to particle physicists and cosmologists alike.
