Bright Club is a unique comedy night and public engagement activity in which academics present their research via the medium of stand-up. It was founded at UCL in London in 2009 but has since spread to cities across the country, from Bristol to Glasgow. Join us to learn more about testes size across mammals, the spicy science of chillis, and the chemistry of molecules!

Almost 2000 planets outside of our solar system have now been found. How do we find these worlds and what do we know about them? From "Hot Jupiters" to "Super Earths" these planets are now being detected in ever increasing numbers as our technology advances. They are surely fascinating but how much can we really learn from planets many light years away?

Impact cratering is one of the most ubiquitous geological processses in our soalr system: it effects every planet & satellite with a solid surface. While notoriously devastating, & cited as being responsible for one of the most significant extinction events in the history of our planet, after the dust settles, there is a small but potentially significant hope that may rise from the destruction: hydrothermal circulation & the development of habitable environments on hostile or dead worlds.
